Trinity Academy Charitable Trust - Edinburgh’s Trinity Academy

Trinity Academy Charitable Trust (TACT) raises funds to enrich the school experience for Trinity pupils. It is run by parents who recognise that a child’s experience at school will last a lifetime, and that learning takes place inside and outside the classroom.

Funds raised are put towards buying materials, equipment and experiences that benefit hundreds of pupils every year. TACT relies on the generosity of parents, businesses and the local community, who kindly provide their expertise, time and donations.

As a registered Scottish charity (SCO43516), eligible donations benefit from Gift Aid, which adds 25% to the value of your donation!

Helping The School Do More

The Trust works closely with the school to understand where donations can be most effectively used. Over the years we have funded:

Transport costs towards an S1 trip to the Glasgow Science Centre
Equipment for the Music Technology course
Funding the new Breakfast Club open to all pupils
A laptop and scientific calculators for the Support Hub
School ties for first year pupils

During the redevelopment of Trinity Academy, the need for donations is greater than ever as the school struggles to cover the cost of hiring alternative venues. These are important events in the school calendar and benefit a broad range of pupils.

Ways To Help

Donate directly: You can make a secure donation here. We welcome both one-off and regular gifts.
Volunteer: we are a small group of parents who welcome support in fundraising, events, social media, video production, designing leaflets…
Fundraise: can you help grow TACT? Perhaps you can organise a fundraiser to benefit the trust? In the past a group of parents raised funds by cycling from Glasgow to Edinburgh!
Corporate support: could your employer or company support Trinity? We’d welcome support of gifts-in-kind, whether its services or goods or a financial donation which we’d gladly acknowledge on social media.
Take on a role: TACT is led by parents/carers like you. If you can take the lead in an event or fundraiser or are interested in becoming a trustee of TACT, come speak to us!

Trust Governance

Funding is distributed by trustees of TACT, all of whom have children attending the school. The current board of trustees took up office in summer 2025.
We collaborate with the school and parent and carer council inviting recommendations for projects to support. Our aim is to maximise the potential impact of awards made.

Trustee Priorities (2025/26)

Re-launch the Trust, reinvigorating its potential to make an impact in school life.
Raise money, initially from parents, but to broaden this out to local businesses and possibly to funding bodies.
Develop a means to fairly and transparently distribute funding to further the aims of the charity.
Develop processes to raise and distribute money in relation to 2. and 3. above.
Develop processes to raise awareness of our work (celebrating achievements is key).
Work collaboratively with the school community.
Observe good governance.
